1) The Elder Scrolls: Arena (1994)

The First ever Elder Scrolls game released on March 25, 1994 by Bethesda Softworks developed exclusively for MS-DOS, bringing this groundbreaking title introducing players to the fantastical continent of Tamriel.

In "Arena," players assume the role of a lone hero tasked with rescuing the Emperor Uriel Septim VII from the clutches of his treacherous advisor, Jagar Tharn. The game is set in Third Era of Tamriel's history in year 389.
The game introduced character creation system, which allows players to craft their own custom hero. From choosing their race (such as humans, elves, or orcs) to selecting their class (warrior, mage, thief, etc.), players have the freedom to tailor their character to their preferred playstyle. Moreover, Players can engage in combat using a variety of weapons and magic spells, as well as interact with NPCs to gather information and undertake quests.
  • The Elder Scrolls: Arena - The Official Arena Player's Guide (1994): While not a traditional DLC, this companion book provided players with invaluable tips, strategies, and lore to aid them on their journey through Tamriel.

2) The Elder Scrolls: Arena Delux Edition (1994)

The Arena Deluxe Edition was released alongside the original version of "The Elder Scrolls: Arena" in 1994 exclusively for MS-DOS. It was essentially an enhanced version of the original release, offering players extra features to enhance their gaming experience.

This edition contained:-
  • Player's Guide: A comprehensive guidebook providing tips, strategies, and information
  • Map of Tamriel: A physical map of the fictional continent of Tamriel, the setting for the game.
  • Hint Book: Similar to the player's guide, the hint book provided additional hints and tips for overcoming challenges in the game.

3) The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (1996)

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall is set in the fictional world of Tamriel, specifically in the province of High Rock and Hammerfell during the Third Era in the year 405 ,developed and published by Bethesda Softworks while released exclusively for MS-DOS on September 20, 1996.

The game's quest revolves around the player character being sent to the region of Daggerfall to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of King Lysandus.
Daggerfall features a first-person perspective and combines elements of open-world exploration, dungeon crawling, and role-playing. Similar to its predecessor, it offers extensive character creation options, allowing players to customize their character's race, gender, class, skills, and attributes.

• Daggerfall CompUSA expansion: Unlike its predecessor, Daggerfall didn't had any special edition but released CompUSA version alongside the original game. Later ,Bethesda launched it as patch to the public The pack included 16 new quests designed by CompUSA brand.

4) The Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire (1997)

The Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire is a spin-off game in the Elder Scrolls series, set in the realm of the Battlespire, a floating fortress created by the Imperial Battlemages to train and test recruits. The game was developed and published by Bethesda Softworks while released on November 30, 1997, exclusively for MS-DOS.

The game's story follows an apprentice Battlemage who becomes trapped in the Battlespire after it is invaded by Daedra. The game is set in the Third Era between the year 398 and ends in 405 just before the events of Daggerfall in the Daedric realm of Oblivion, specifically within the realm of Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedric Prince of Destruction. It also includes a multiplayer component, allowing players to compete against each other in arena-style battles.

5) The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard (1998)

The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard is set on the island of Stros M'Kai, located within the province of Hammerfell in the continent of Tamriel developed and published by Bethesda Softworks and released on October 31,1998 for exclusively for MS-DOS.

The game follows the story of Cyrus, a Redguard mercenary, who arrives on Stros M'Kai in search of his sister, Iszara. The game is set in the year 864 of Second Era before the events and Arena, Daggerfall and Battlespire.

The game features pre-rendered backgrounds and 3D character models, giving it a distinctive visual style and primarily focused on melee combat, with players using a variety of sword techniques to defeat enemies.

6) The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (2002)

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind takes place on the island of Vvardenfell, located in the province of Morrowind within the continent of Tamriel developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks while
released on May 1, 2002 for Microsoft Windows and later for Xbox.


The game is set in the year 427 of Third Era where gamers plays the role of a prisoner who arrives in Morrowind aboard a prison ship and follows the prophecy of Nerevarine. Unlike previous games, the game doesn't really have a main mission but introduces several quests to complete the game.

The game took the open world exploration to the next level with dense landscape, diverse culture and atmosphere. The game also introduced players to the intricate politics, religions, and histories of the island. It had further two expansions:-
1)Tribunal
2)Bloodmoon

7) Morrowind Construction Set (2002)


Release date- May 1, 2002

The Morrowind Construction Set is a game and mod developing tool provided that allows users to create and modify content for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind developed and released by Bethesda software alongside the original game on May 1, 2002.

While not being an actual game, it enables users to customize various aspects of the game, including world-building, quest creation, character editing, dialogue writing, item placement, and much more.

It was included as part of the game package, allowing players and modders to create and modify content for the game right from its release. Fun fact is that developers of the game used this tool to create Morrowind and it's expansions.

8) The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal (2002)

The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal is the first expansion pack for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released on November 8, 2002 but later bundled with the Morrowind as "Game of the Year" edition. Tribunal is set in the city of Mournhold, the capital of the province of Morrowind separate from the island of Vvardenfell. The story is set after the events of Morrowind where mysterious assassinations are made targeting the player character, who has risen to prominence as the Nerevarine, a prophesied hero.


The expansion introduces several new features and gameplay like new creatures, weapons, armor, spells, and enchantments for players to discover and utilize. Apart from this, it also adds new gameplay systems, such as the ability to craft and enchant items.

9) The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon (2003)

The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon is the second expansion pack for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks while released on June 3, 2003 but later included in the "Game of the Year" edition. The game is set on the island of Solstheim, located to the north of Vvardenfell in the year 427 of Third Era, the same year as Morrowind. The expansion introduces players to a harsh and unforgiving landscape filled with icy surface, dense forests, and treacherous mountains.

The expansion's main questline revolves around a mysterious werewolf curse that has befallen the island, as players are tasked with uncovering its origins and putting an end to the threat it poses. It also offers a variety of side quests, dungeons, and challenges for players to discover and conquer.

10)The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition (2003)

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - The Game of the Year (GOTY) edition of is a special edition release that includes the base game along with its both expansion packs developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks while released on October 31, 2003.

The game consist of the base game with Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions with additional content like quests, items and new features. It provided players to experience the whole trilogy of Morrowind in single purchase.

11) The Elder Scrolls Travels: Stormhold (2003)

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Stormhold is the first "Travels" spinoff in Elder Scroll series designed for early Mobile phones with different gaming experience , developed by Vir2L Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks while released in August 1, 2003 for J2ME and BREW.

The game is set in a remote Imperial prison known as Stormhold, located in the province of Black Marsh where the warden of Stormhold, Quintus Varus, has become mad with power and is using a mysterious artifact called the Storm Crystal to control the prisoners and the prison itself. The player being a prisoner must explore the prison, uncover the secrets of the Storm Crystal, and confront Varus to secure their freedom. The game is set before the events of Morrowind in the Year 397 of Third Era.


The game was made according to the capabilities of mobile phones of early days with simple interface, short session gameplay and progression. Even being mobile based game, it didn't stopped to give players the experience of Classic Elder Scroll series.

The game introduced First person View with numerous levels and puzzles to solve where players progress after completing each level. Apart from this, the game offered multiple endings.

12) The Elder Scrolls Travels: Dawnstar (2004)

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Dawnstar is second installment in "Travels" series, designed for early mobile devices. Similar to "Stormhold," Dawnstar was developed by Vir2L Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks while initially released on August 26, 2004 for J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) and BREW mobile devices.

The game is set in the icy, northern town of Dawnstar located at the northern region of Skyrim. Known for its harsh climate and proximity to the Sea of Ghosts, Dawnstar is a small settlement that faces unique challenges due to its remote location. The setting is rich with Nordic culture and lore, providing a distinctive backdrop for the game.


The lore of Dawnstar exist from the First Era but there is no exact year for game to take place. The estimated timeline for the game events are between 2E and 3E where the player takes on the role of an adventurer who arrives in the town amidst a series of ominous events. The townspeople are plagued by nightmares and disappearances, and it's up to the player to investigate these occurrences.

Just like "Stormhold", the game is made according to the capabilities of mobile phones of early days with simple interface, short session gameplay and progression.

13) The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey (2004)

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey is an another "Travels" spinoff in the Elder Scrolls series developed by Vir2L Studios and TKO Software, and published by Bethesda Softworks while initially released on November 11, 2004, specifically for the Nokia N-Gage and handheld gaming console hybrid.


The is set during the year 397 of Third Era, similar to "Stormhold". The game takes place in the mountainous region of the Western Reach, which spans parts of Skyrim and Hammerfell where the story revolves around the player's quest to stop the evil sorcerer, Skelos Undriel, who seeks to harness the power of the Shadowkeys—ancient artifacts that grant immense power.

Unlike previous "Travels" releases, the game was made more advanced and graphically enhanced for the capabilities of N-Gage allowing more complex and immersive gameplay experience.

14) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion further installment in main series developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games while initially released on March 20, 2006 for powerful consoles.

The game is set in the fantasy world of Tamriel, specifically in the province of Cyrodiil where the player try to stop a cult known as the Mythic Dawn from opening portals to a demonic realm called Oblivion.


Oblivion is set in the year 3E 433, which is towards the end of the Third Era where the main story revolves around the assassination of Emperor Uriel Septim VII and the subsequent chaos as the gates to Oblivion, a hellish parallel dimension, open across Tamriel. The player, known as the Hero of Kvatch, is tasked with finding and protecting the Emperor's illegitimate son, Martin Septim, and helping him reclaim the throne.

The game included a vast and detailed open world filled with cities, dungeons, and wilderness including extensive options for creating and developing a unique character, including choosing a race, class, and skills. The game also introduced a dynamic AI system where NPCs have their own schedules and behaviors, making the world feel more alive.

DLCs
  • Knights of the Nine :- This expansion introduces a new faction and a questline centered around the restoration of the Knights of the Nine, a holy order dedicated to the Nine Divines. Players undertake a pilgrimage to retrieve the lost relics of the Crusader and confront the Ayleid sorcerer-king Umaril the Unfeathered.
  • Shivering Isles:- This major expansion adds a completely new landmass, the Shivering Isles, the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. The expansion features a substantial new main questline, new creatures, items, and over 30 hours of additional gameplay.
  • Horse Armor Pack:- Adds purchasable armor for horses, offering both steel and elven styles to protect the player’s steeds.
  • Orrery:- Introduces a quest to repair the Orrery at the Arcane University, providing access to a new power based on the phases of the moons.
  • Wizard's Tower (Frostcrag Spire):- Adds a new player home, Frostcrag Spire, a wizard's tower located in the Jeral Mountains. It includes various magical facilities such as spellmaking and enchanting altars.
  • The Thieves Den:- Adds a new player home, Dunbarrow Cove, an abandoned pirate ship located in Anvil. It offers features suitable for thieves, such as fences to sell stolen goods.
  • Mehrunes' Razor:- Adds a new quest to retrieve the powerful Daedric artifact Mehrunes' Razor, located in a massive dungeon called Sundercliff Watch.
  • The Vile Lair:- Adds a new player home, Deepscorn Hollow, an underwater lair suitable for evil characters, including features like a shrine to Sithis and a dark minion.
  • Spell Tomes:- Introduces spell tomes, which are books that grant the player new spells when read. These can be found as loot in dungeons or purchased from merchants.
  • Fighter's Stronghold (Battlehorn Castle):- Adds a new player home, Battlehorn Castle, a large fortress located west of Chorrol. It includes various facilities for warriors, such as trainers and a sparring arena.

15) Oblivion Construction Set (2006)


Release date- April 6, 2006

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Construction Set is a powerful tool that was released by Bethesda Game Studios to allow players to create, modify, and enhance the game content of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. There is no valid proof of its release date but is said to be available on April 6, 2006.


The release of the Construction Set significantly impacted the "Oblivion" modding community by providing the tools necessary to create high-quality mods. This led to the development of a wide variety of mods, ranging from simple cosmetic changes to comprehensive overhauls and entirely new game experiences. Some notable mods include: OOO, MMM and Nehrim.

16) The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion (2006)

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion was released on May 2nd ,2006 developed and published by Bethesda Softworks for J2ME mobile devices, specifically designed for early mobile phones and Sony´s Play station portable.

The game likely revolved around the main plot elements of "Oblivion," where the player character, often referred to as the Hero of Kvatch in the main series, is tasked with preventing the opening of Oblivion Gates and stopping the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon's invasion of Tamriel.

The game made to give revival to Elder Scroll's Hit ,
¨The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion¨ and give portable players the experience of its storyline but due to its limited release and lack of comprehensive public availability.

17) The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine (2006)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine was developed and published by Bethesda Game Studios with initial Release on November 21, 2006 as an expansion pack for "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion ".

The game took place parallel to the Oblivion Crises of "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" in 3E 433 where Umaril, a powerful Ayleid sorcerer-king defeated by Pelinal Whitestrake in ancient times seeks his revenge after resurrection.

The player takes act as the Champion of Cyrodiil, who undertakes a pilgrimage to the shrines of the Nine Divines, gathers the lost relics of the Crusader, and must restore and become the leader of the ancient order of the Knights of the Nine to combat the resurrected Ayleid sorcerer-king, Umaril.

18)The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles (2007)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles is the further expansion pack for the main game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," developed and published by Bethesda Game Studios with initial release on March 26, 2007.

The expansion gives a chance to explore a new realm of Shivering Isles divided into two regions, Mania and Dementia ruled by Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness.


The game is set in the year 3E 433, parallel to the Oblivion Crises where the player is summoned by the ruler to prevent Greymarch, a event where the forces of Jyggalag, the Daedric Prince of Order, invade and destroy the Isles.
